MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611086415 A) filed by Chandigarh University on July 15, 2026, for Secure Blockchain-Based Predictive Digital Twin Encryption System.

Inventors include Deepika Sharma; Agrim; Lavanya; and Kartik Bhosale.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a secure blockchain-based predictive digital twin encryption system that combines digital twin technology, advanced cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and intelligent grid management into a closed-loop operational framework. The system secures energy consumption data using hybrid cryptographic techniques, including symmetric encryption for efficient data protection, asymmetric cryptography for secure key exchange, and cryptographic hashing to maintain data integrity and authenticity. Authenticated meter data is processed by AI-based models to detect anomalies, identify energy theft, and support predictive decision-making. A real-time digital twin continuously mirrors the operational state of each smart meter, enabling load forecasting, equipment health assessment, and predictive maintenance. The verified transactions and operational events are anchored on a lightweight blockchain through immutable cryptographic proofs, while detailed records remain securely stored off-chain to preserve privacy and improve scalability. The blockchain smart contracts automate billing, tariff adjustments, payment settlement, and compliance processes.
