Abstract: ABSTRACT: Secure Biometric Electronic Voting System with Distributed Ledger Integrity Mechanism This invention describes a secure biometric electronic voting apparatus and method designed to ensure authenticated voter participation, prevent duplicate voting, and maintain tamper-resistant vote records. The system employs live-fingerprint liveness detection to verify physiological authenticity and prevent spoofing using artificial replicas. Captured biometric data is securely matched with encrypted voter templates, and voting eligibility is determined through real-time voter-status validation. Upon successful authentication, a controlled voting interface enables vote casting. Each vote is recorded as an encrypted transaction containing metadata including timestamp, device identity, and a cryptographic hash. The system utilizes a distributed ledger framework to store vote records in a tamper-evident manner across authorized nodes. It further supports offline-secure operation with subsequent synchronization upon connectivity restoration. A fraud detection engine monitors anomalous activity, while administrative access controls restrict result disclosure.
