MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611076046 A) filed by Anubhav Sharma; and Dr. Mamta Bansal on June 19, 2026, for Secure And Transparent Model For Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Based On Ethereum Blockchain.
Inventors include Anubhav Sharma; and Dr. Mamta Bansal.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a secure and transparent model for a pharmaceutical supply chain utilizes an Ethereum-based blockchain network and a suite of smart contracts to provide immutable, end-to-end product traceability and verification. The model comprises a drug registry contract that creates digital tokens for pharmaceutical units, an ownership transfer contract that records custody changes via cryptographically signed transactions, a verification contract enabling real-time authenticity checks by stakeholders including patients, and an alert contract that autonomously enforces compliance rules. An integration layer connects physical events from IoT sensors and enterprise systems to the blockchain via oracles. Confidential commercial data is stored off-chain with on-chain hash anchoring, ensuring transparency of provenance while protecting business privacy. The model eliminates centralized points of failure, automates regulatory compliance, empowers consumers, and is deployable as a consortium chain, a multi-chain system with public anchoring, or a simplified private implementation, dramatically improving pharmaceutical supply chain security and operational efficiency.
