Abstract: The present invention relates to a seawater-activated battery-free illumination system (100) integrated within a life jacket structure for marine emergency visibility enhancement. The system (100) comprises a plurality of conductive textile electrodes (102) including one or more aluminum textile electrodes (104) and one or more copper textile electrodes (106) arranged as series-connected galvanic electrochemical cells (108). Upon seawater immersion, seawater functions as an ionic electrolyte enabling electrochemical reactions between the aluminum textile electrodes (104) and the copper textile electrodes (106) for generating electrical energy. The generated electrical energy directly powers a light-emitting assembly (112) without utilizing batteries, stored electrical energy sources, switches, or electronic control circuitry. The invention provides passive automatic activation, lightweight wearable integration, reduced maintenance requirements, improved long-term reliability, and environmentally responsible emergency illumination for marine safety and rescue applications.
