MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611088587 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University on July 21, 2026, for Sealed Multi-Layer Vessel For Slow Cooking On Residual Tandoor Heat.

Inventors include Jyoti Sehrawat; Indrajeet Kumar; and Virendra Singh.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: A vessel (10) for slow cooking on the residual heat of a tandoor after shutdown has a side wall and base (30) of bonded stainless steel, aluminium and stainless steel laminate (20) with a vitrified enamel coating (28) inside. The base (30) is thicker than the side wall and acts as a thermal store, while raised ridges (40) hold food clear of it against scorching. The core layer (24) equalises the uneven radiant flux around the vessel. A domed lid (50) returns condensate at a peripheral region (54), and a groove (62) and ridge (64) sealing interface (60) retains vapour yet relieves overpressure without displacing the lid (50). Insulated handles (70) allow vertical withdrawal and a locking formation (92) engages the rack (94).
