This scrap transport device selects and transports a scrap group (1) composed of a plurality of pieces of scrap (2), the scrap transport device comprising: an imaging device (3) that images the scrap group (1); an image analysis unit (4) that, when considering a collection of one or more pieces of scrap (2) present in a region among one or more regions located in the scrap group (1) as detected scrap, analyzes the captured image captured by the imaging device (3) and estimates scrap information that includes sorting information that specifies the location of the detected scrap and the content of the pieces of scrap (2) that constitute the detected scrap; a selection calculation unit (5) that refers to the estimated selection information and selects the detected scrap that satisfies a preset selection condition; and a transfer device (6) that takes out and transports the pieces of scrap (2) from the region in which the detected scrap selected by the selection calculation unit (5) is located.
