MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641072747 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on June 11, 2026, for Scheduler-Coupled Security Enforcement System For Real-Time Operating Systems.

Inventors include Vijayashree J; and Joel Devasia.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: Scheduler-Coupled Security Enforcement System for Real-Time Operating Systems A scheduler-coupled security enforcement system for a real-time operating system is disclosed. The system integrates security validation and schedulability analysis within a unified scheduler-level framework for controlling task execution in embedded and real-time environments. The system performs scheduler-level admission control to prevent unauthorized or anomalous task execution before processor allocation. The system comprises a Security-Timing Profile Repository for storing security and timing parameters associated with tasks, a Security Admission Gate for intercepting scheduler dispatch and verifying task authorization, a Schedulability Feasibility Analyzer for evaluating execution feasibility, a Runtime Behaviour Monitor for monitoring runtime activity of tasks, and an Adaptive Mitigation Engine for applying mitigation actions upon detection of anomalous behaviour. The system preserves real-time deadline compliance through criticality-aware mitigation while maintaining deterministic runtime performance in embedded systems.
