Abstract: In many households, medicines are often removed from their packaging and stored as loose tablets, leading to confusion about medicine identity, dosage schedules, and expiry dates. This situation increases the risk of incorrect medicine consumptionTmissed-dosesTor accidental-intake-of-expired-- medicines. ScanmyPills is a mobile- based application developed to intelligently scan medicine packages and identify loose tablets using artificial intelligence and image recognition techniques. By scanning medicine strips or packages, the application extracts key details such as medicine name, dosage, and expiry information, which are securely stored for future reference. When users later scan loose tablets, the system compares images with stored data to identify the medicine and display relevant usage details. The application further supports automated dosage reminders and expiry alerts to ensure safe medication practices. ScanmyPills empowers users, caregivers, and elderly patients to manage medicines safely and efficiently, promoting better medication adherence and reducing health risks associated with improper medicine usage.
