Abstract: A Salinity-Aware Sensor Fusion for Adaptive Precision Irrigation system is disclosed for improving the reliability of sensor-based agricultural irrigation. The system combines soil-moisture, soil electrical-conductivity and soil-temperature measurements in an embedded controller to determine a salinity-dependent correction for the raw moisture reading. The resulting corrected moisture value is used with crop- and zone-specific limits to determine whether irrigation is required and to control a pump and/or valve. A flow sensor independently verifies the actual water delivered and enables detection of abnormal conditions such as leakage, blockage or pump/valve failure. The system can be implemented for a single irrigation zone or multiple zones and can optionally communicate sensor values, irrigation status and alerts through an IoT platform. The proposed approach focuses on salinity-aware interpretation of moisture sensing together with closed-loop irrigation verification for precision agriculture.
