Abstract: A router attachment (140) for enhancing functionality of a network router (110) is disclosed. The router attachment (140) comprises at least one processing unit (142) and a memory (158). The processing unit (142) is configured to receive network traffic via a communication interface (144) from one or more user devices (120) and to receive input data indicative of physical or environmental conditions. The processing unit (142) analyses the network traffic to extract domain-related data and traffic characteristics, and identifies one or more events including non-permitted domain conditions, anomalous traffic behaviour indicative of cyber threats, and physical hazard conditions based on correlation with the input data. The processing unit (142) determines a control decision and controls forwarding of the network traffic accordingly. The router attachment (140) further generates and transmits notifications to external devices, thereby enabling integrated network management, security, and environmental monitoring. FIG. 1
