MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511014078 A) filed by Jain, Shreyans on February 18, 2025, for Rocket Lifting System Based On Multilayer Hydrogen Balloon And Method Of Operation Thereof.

Inventor includes Jain, Shreyans.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a rocket lifting system (100) based on multilayer hydrogen balloon (102) for interplanetary travel. The system (100) includes a four- layer hydrogen balloon (102) for lifting rockets to the edge of the atmosphere, removing reliance on combustion-based propulsion during atmospheric ascent. The hydrogen serves as both a lifting agent and fuel, transitioning from ascent to space travel. The system (100) comprises a cryogenic combustion engine (108) and a compact nuclear power source or Li-ion batteries. The balloon is made of multiple layers including Graphene-Reinforced Polymer, Multi-Layer Mylar + Aerogel, Dyneema and UV-resistant materials. The modular design incorporates flexible solar panels for energy efficiency. This system (100) enables increased payload capacity, substantially reduced fuel consumption, and enhanced sustainability and reusability for interplanetary missions and satellite launches.
