MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511020525 A) filed by Chandigarh Engineering College Jhanjeri on March 06, 2025, for Rock Climbing Assistive Device.

Inventor includes Dr. Gurpratap Singh.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A rock climbing assistive device, comprising a hydraulic pusher 101 having two rectangular plates 102, attached at two ends of the pusher 101 and configured with hinge joints 103 for expanding in a rock cavity, multiple suction cups 104 provided on the plates 102 for gripping onto surface of the rock cavity, an U-shaped telescopic member 105 attached across the pusher 101, having a layer of cushion padding for allowing a user to acquire a grip onto the pusher 101, an annular flap 106 attached with the pusher 101 via a ball and socket joint for enabling attached of a hook for climbing, an imaging unit 107, installed on the pusher 101 to determine dimensions of the rock cavity and curvature of surfaces of the rock cavity, a microphone 108, provided on the pusher 101 receives an audio command from the user regarding fixing the pusher 101 in the cavity.
