MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621088594 A) filed by Merai Newage Private Limited on July 20, 2026, for Robotic Surgical System For Orthopaedic Joint Replacement And Method Of Controlling Robotic Surgical System.

Inventors include Desai, Indrajit Anandrao; Sahane, Pradip Vishnu; and Parmar, Prakashsinh Bhagwansinh.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A robotic surgical system (100) for orthopaedic joint replacement includes a robot cart (102) having a robotic arm (106) carrying a cutting tool (108), a motor (202), a motor driver unit (204) transmitting electrical current data to an adaptive controller (208), and force sensing elements (206) transmitting mechanical interaction data to the adaptive controller (208). A workflow state identifier (210) determines a current surgical cutting state from a stored predefined surgical workflow and transmits the current surgical cutting state to the adaptive controller (208). The adaptive controller (208) compares the current surgical cutting state against a stored set of activation conditions and outputs a control signal to the motor driver unit (204). The cutting states include a first subset permitting cutting parameter adjustment and a second subset prohibiting cutting parameter adjustment irrespective of the mechanical interaction data and the electrical current data.
