MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611100986 A) filed by Poornima University; Dr. Vaishali Sonwane; and Dr. Ashish Raj on August 20, 2026, for Robotic Humanoid System For Autonomous Operation In A Healthcare Environment And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Dr. Vaishali Sonwane; and Dr. Ashish Raj.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a robotic humanoid system and a method for operating the robotic humanoid system in a healthcare environment. The system comprises a locomotion mobile platform, a humanoid structural body, a sensor perception subsystem including LiDAR, vision cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and infrared sensors, an onboard processing unit, a communication unit, and a human-robot interface. The communication unit receives operational tasks from a hospital management system, while the sensor perception subsystem acquires synchronized environmental information. The onboard processing unit generates and continuously updates an environmental representation, determines a current position of the robotic humanoid, generates navigation paths, converts the navigation paths into motion control signals, detects obstructions, regenerates navigation paths, validates pickup operations, and controls movement toward destination locations. The human-robot interface processes user interactions, and the communication unit transmits operational progress and task completion information to the hospital management system for coordinated autonomous operation within the healthcare environment.
