Abstract: Today, there is an increasing demand for intelligent robotic systems that can assist humans in personal assistance within indoor environments such as homes, offices, laboratories, and institutions. However, many existing robots require manual control and are unable to respond intelligently to voice commands or protect themselves from potential threats. The main objective of this invention is to develop a compact, intelligent, and low-cost voice-controlled robo dog that can understand human voice commands and automatically move to a safe hiding location when instructed, without human intervention. The robot dog comprises a microphone module used for capturing voice commands from the user, enabling natural and easy human-robot interaction. A Raspberry Pi is used as the main controller to process voice input using speech recognition, analyse environmental data, and control the robot's movement intelligently. The robot also includes a camera module that helps in monitoring and assists in identifying safe hiding spots using image processing techniques. The robo dog further comprises VL53LOX Time-of-Flight (ToF) distance sensors for accurate obstacle detection and distance measurement, allowing the robot to navigate safely and avoid collisions while moving. An ESP32 microcontroller is integrated to handle fast sensor communication and assist in real-time control tasks. The robot uses DC gear motors connected to a motor driver to enable smooth and efficient movement in multiple directions. The robo dog is built on a strong and lightweight chassis with wheels and support frame to ensure stability and durability. The system is programmed with an intelligent hiding algorithm that allows the robot to automatically search for nearby safe locations such as under furniture, corners, or behind objects when the user gives a "hide" voice command. This feature enhances the robot's ability to protect itself and operate autonomously in dynamic indoor environments.
