Abstract: The titled invention discloses a road-mounted smart loT flood detection and warning system comprising an ultrasonic sensor array (1), rain sensor (2), edge computing controller (3), communication unit (4), local alert system (5), cloud server database (6), flood prediction and analysis configuration (7), notification service unit (8), and flood monitoring dashboard (9). The ultrasonic sensor array (1) determines water depth, flow speed and flow direction, while the rain sensor (2) measures rainfall. The edge computing controller (3) locally processes the sensor information and provides emergency triggering. The processed data is transmitted through Wi-Fi with GSM/4G failover and stored in the cloud server database (6). Measured and forecast rainfall are fused with water depth, depth rate and flow direction for Multivariate LSTM prediction of water depth for 6 to 8 hours. A Water Accumulation Index determines five flood severity levels, which are displayed on the dashboard (9) and used for multi-channel alerts.
