Abstract: A ripper assembly (200) for a work machine (100) is disclosed. The ripper assembly (200) comprises a ripper member (204) including one or more ripper tools (208) and one or more linkage assemblies (220). The linkage assemblies (200) include a lower arm (260) pivotally coupled between the ripper member (204) and a frame (122) of the work machine (100). The linkage assemblies include an actuator (280) including a cylinder (284) pivotally coupled with the frame (122) and defining a bore, and a rod (288) received within the bore and pivotally coupled with the lower arm (260). The linkage assemblies include an an upper arm (310) pivotally coupled relative to the ripper member (204); and a pivot joint (314) configured to pivotally couple the upper arm (310) relative to the cylinder (284). The pivot joint (314) being moveable with respect to the frame (122) as the rod (288) is moved with respect to the cylinder (284) between a retracted position and an extended position to correspondingly move the one or more ripper tools (208) between a first state and a second state.
