Abstract: The present invention relates to an RFID-based public transport monitoring and passenger information system designed to improve the efficiency, reliability, and management of public bus transportation systems. Existing public transport systems often face challenges such as inaccurate arrival information, manual ticket verification, inefficient passenger management, and dependency on paper-based ticketing methods. These limitations reduce operational efficiency and passenger convenience. The proposed system utilizes RFID-enabled identification for buses and RFID readers installed at predefined checkpoints to detect and monitor vehicle movement in real time. The collected information is processed through a centralized system to estimate bus arrival timings and provide passengers with updated travel information through mobile applications and electronic display systems installed at bus stops. The invention further incorporates an NFC-based digital ticket validation mechanism that enables passengers to use digital passes and electronic ticket verification methods instead of conventional paper tickets and physical cards. The system helps reduce manual verification processes, minimizes paper usage, and improves the efficiency of ticket management in public transportation. The proposed framework enhances passenger convenience, improves transport monitoring capabilities, and supports modernization of public transportation infrastructure through the integration of RFID tracking and NFC-based ticket validation technologies
