The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: A reversible, multi-use paper-based pathogen detection device integrates a thermo-regenerative reset mechanism for sustainable diagnostics. Comprising a biodegradable cellulose substrate (10) with microfluidic zones (20), the sensor is functionalized with pathogen-specific biomolecules (30) to detect microbial targets via colorimetric, electrochemical, or fluorescence signals (40, 50, 60, 70). A thermal reset mechanism (80), using controlled heating (60°C–90°C) via resistive layers, thermal pads, or inductive heating (90), denatures analyte-biomolecule complexes, restoring binding sites for multiple detection cycles. The device offers rapid, selective detection of pathogens like E. coli and Salmonella in food, water, or biological samples, with applications in food safety, environmental monitoring, and point- of-care diagnostics. Its scalability, portability, and cost-effectiveness (100) make it ideal for low-resource settings, overcoming limitations of single-use biosensors by ensuring sustainability and longevity.
