Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a reusable, chairside dental instrument designed for trimming, finishing, and polishing clear orthodontic aligners directly in the clinical setting. With the increasing use of clear aligner therapy, clinicians frequently encounter the need for chairside modification of aligner margins to improve patient comfort, soft tissue compatibility, and appliance fit. Existing trimming and polishing methods rely on laboratory rotary instruments, disposable burs, or multiple tools, which are time-consuming, technique-sensitive, and inconsistent. The disclosed invention comprises a compact, reusable, hand-held tool incorporating integrated trimming and polishing elements specifically contoured for orthodontic aligners. The tool enables controlled removal of excess aligner material and smooth finishing of aligner margins without compromising aligner integrity. The invention improves clinical efficiency, precision, and patient comfort while reducing dependence on laboratory procedures and disposable consumables.
