Abstract: RETROFIT DISPENSING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF OPERATION THEREOF ABSTRACT A retrofit dispensing apparatus (100) is disclosed. The apparatus (100) comprising a locking arrangement (102) to removably secure the apparatus (100) to a container containing a fluid. The locking arrangement (102) is adjustable to accommodate containers having different configurations; a sensing unit (106) to detect presence of a target object within a detection region; a fluid transfer arrangement (108) to establish fluid communication with the container and receive the fluid therefrom; a motor (112) to transfer the fluid through the fluid transfer arrangement (108); a pump (114) fluidly coupled to the fluid transfer arrangement (108) and to direct the fluid towards a dispensing surface of the target object. The apparatus (100) is to receive an input from the sensing unit (106); process the input to determine presence of the target object; generate a dispensing control signal; and transmit the dispensing control signal to the motor (112).
