The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION: The invention of the Retractable Mechanical Inoculating Loop relates to a novel laboratory device designed with a pen-style mechanical retraction mechanism that guides the user to safely extend, retract, and replace the inoculating wire for sterile microbial transfer. The device incorporates a clickor- twist actuator, similar to a mechanical pencil, housed within a cylindrical, autoclave-able body, allowing the heat-resistant loop wire (nichrome or platinum) or disposable plastic to be projected for use and withdrawn for protection. This feature ensures enhanced sterility by shielding the loop when not in use, minimizes contamination risks and accidental burns associated with exposed hot wires, eliminates cooling delays, and enables rapid wire replacement for high-throughput sampling. The invention is simple, cost-effective, and adaptable to both stainless steel and high-grade polymer constructions, making it highly beneficial for teaching, diagnostic, research, and industrial laboratories where standardized, safe, and efficient microbial inoculation is essential
