Abstract: The use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is common in households and commercial kitchens all over the world where even accidental leakages can result in hazardous fires. Although existing commercial sensors are present in the market, they are based on visual alerts or alerts in English making them useless for old people, illiterates, and non-English speakers. This paper proposes the design of ResQVoice IoT, which is an intelligent, inclusive, and automated solution for detection of LPG leakage using voice alerts. This innovative system makes use of the calibrated MQ-6 gas sensor connected to a dual-core ESP32 controller which constantly keeps track of LPG levels in the environment. In case of exceeding of a critical safety threshold ( 1000 PPM), the system immediately takes a hardware-based action to cut off the gas by opening up a motorized ball valve. As soon as this happens, a pre-recorded audio alert in the local language of the user starts playing informing him about evacuation steps in order to avoid any casualties. The system uses IoT framework to stream live data to cloud and sends emergency alerts and calls to a cellular network through API calls to a particular mobile device.
