Abstract: ABSTRACT RESPONSE REQUEST FOR AIOT DEVICE Example embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to response request for ambient Internet of things (AIoT) device. In a method, a second apparatus transmits a contention resolution message to a first apparatus such as an AIoT device. The contention resolution message is associated with a random access procedure of the first apparatus to the second apparatus. The contention resolution message indicates whether at least one response to at least one request from the second apparatus is required. The first apparatus receives the contention resolution message from the second apparatus. If the contention resolution message indicates the at least one response being required, the first apparatus transmits, to the second apparatus via backscattering, a data transmission including the at least one response to the at least one request.
