Abstract: ABSTRACT RESPONSE REQUEST FOR AIOT DEVICE Example embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to response request for ambient Internet of things (AIoT) device. In a method, a first apparatus such as an AIoT device performs a random access procedure to a second apparatus. An inventory response to the inventory request is transmitted to the second apparatus during the random access procedure. The second apparatus transmits to the first apparatus, a first data transmission including a command request. At least one of the first data transmission or a resource associated with the command request indicates whether a response to the command request is required. The first apparatus receives the first data transmission. Based on a response to the command request being required, the first apparatus transmits, to the second apparatus via backscattering, a second data transmission including the response to the command request.
