MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641098120 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on August 13, 2026, for Respiratory Monitoring System For Respiratory State Verification.
Inventors include Saranyaraj D; S Senthilkumar Seelan; G H Yatinkrishna; Eric Jonathan E; and Mohan Babu K.
The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a respiratory monitoring system (100). The respiratory monitoring system (100) includes a first sensor assembly (102) to capture first physiological data associated with respiratory movement of a subject, a second sensor assembly (104) to capture second physiological data associated with cardiac activity of the subject, an alert assembly (106), and a controller (202). The controller (202) receives the first physiological data and the second physiological data, determines a calibration parameter based on the first physiological data, generates a normalized respiratory parameter, determines a physiological state parameter by processing the second physiological data using a learning model, generates a respiratory verification parameter by correlating the normalized respiratory parameter and the physiological state parameter, determines a respiratory condition based on the respiratory verification parameter, and actuates the alert assembly (106) to provide a respiratory notification.
