MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641115564 A) filed by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on September 26, 2026, for Resilient Routing Of A Data Packet Through A Reduced Forwarder Subset In A Wireless Network.
Inventors include Tulichale Rajagopal, Krishnaprasad; and Duttagupta, Subhasri.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system (100) and a method (300) for resilient routing of a data packet (106) in a failure-prone wireless network. A node (108) derives a ranking value (212) of a neighbour node (104) from a cost of a wireless link (218) and a distance from a destination node (220), and assembles a forwarder subset (110) of a smallest ranking value (212) holding fewer neighbour nodes (104) than the node (108) holds. A transceiver (210) transmits the data packet (106) to the forwarder subset (110) in an order set by a value table (204), and on non-receipt to an untraversed neighbour node (104). Unlike conventional routing that explores every neighbour node (104), this approach settles a routing path over fewer attempts and sustains delivery under node failure.
