MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647096899 A) filed by Google LLC on August 11, 2026, for Resequencing Feature Map Channels Using Sparsity Information.

Inventors include Park, Hee Jun; and Khajeh Djahromi, Amin.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: Methods and systems, including computer-readable media, are described for resequencing feature map channels of a neural network layer using channel sparsity information for the layer. A computing system obtains one or more reference images and generates a histogram that includes multiple bins based on pixel values of the one or more reference images. For each layer of a multi-layer neural network the system: i) computes a sparsity value for each feature map channel of the layer based on the histogram; ii) determines a sparsity correlation among feature map channels of the layer based on each sparsity value for each feature map channel of the layer; and iii) re-sequences the feature map channels of the layer based on the sparsity correlation.
