MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611070070 A) filed by Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh; and Panjab University on June 04, 2026, for Research Performance Benchmarking System Using Adaptive Data-Driven Multi-Indicator Weight Determination.
Inventors include Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh; Rohit Chauhan; Rishabh Kumar; and Harsh Anand Singh.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: A research performance benchmarking system (100) is disclosed. The system (100) comprises one or more processors (101), a memory (103), and a plurality of modules executable by the one or more processors (101). The plurality of modules comprises a data acquisition module (102) configured to receive research performance data from a plurality of data sources, a metadata harmonization module (116) configured to transform heterogeneous metadata into unified machine-processable benchmark vectors, an indicator extraction module (104) configured to extract research performance indicators comprising publication count, citation count, H-index, Hm-index, funded papers, patent metrics, altmetric metrics, and international collaboration metrics, and a normalization module (106) configured to normalize the research performance indicators. The system (100) further comprises a weighting module (108), an adaptive correlation suppression module (118), a benchmark integrity module (120), a score generation module (110), and an output module (112) configured to generate benchmark outputs corresponding to one or more evaluated entities. The system further supports incremental benchmark updates and explainable benchmark generation.
