MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621063390 A) filed by Parul University on May 19, 2026, for Rescue Assistive Device For Collapsed Environments.

Inventors include Shreeshant Siddram Kashekar; Panchal Jimil Hitesh; Pillai Anandu; Pranay Amit Bijutkar; and Pankaj Anadani.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: A rescue assistive device for collapsed environments, comprising a housing 101 with a hybrid propulsion means including multiple independent drive wheels 102 and a Klan arrangement 103 for multi-modal locomotion in a collapsed environment, a surface detection and adaptive locomotion module, including a downward facing camera array 104 and a GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) sensor onto an undercarriage of the housing 101, for detecting surface texture, moisture levels and debris, an obstacle detection and path planning module to scan surroundings to create high-fidelity volumetric maps of the collapsed environment for assessing environment to detect obstacles and compressed debris in close proximity of the housing 101, along with identifying weak spots on the terrain, a debris manipulation assembly including, a pair of robotic arms 108 for gripping and removing the debris.
