Abstract: Compositions and methods relating to glycosaminoglycan components are disclosed. The improvements include reduced MMP levels, reduced apoptotic markers, reduced endothelial activation, and increased organ function. Such methods and compositions are useful for organ and tissue transplantation and storage or shipment of harvested organs and tissues.
