The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT REMOVAL OF TRIPHENYL PHOSPHATE USING DIATOM-DERIVED BIO-SILICA The present disclosure provides a method for removing triphenyl phosphate from an aqueous medium. The method comprises providing a bio-silica adsorbent (100) derived from diatom biomass, wherein the bio-silica adsorbent (100) comprises silanol functional groups on a surface thereof. The method further comprises contacting the bio-silica adsorbent (100) with the aqueous medium containing triphenyl phosphate to form a mixture. The method additionally comprises maintaining the mixture for a contact period to allow adsorption of the triphenyl phosphate onto the bio-silica adsorbent (100). (Fig. 1)
