MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641111025 A) filed by New Horizon College Of Engineering on September 16, 2026, for Removable Garment-Integrated Mobile-Phone Pouch With Automatic Dual-Stage Locking And Concealed Manual Release Mechanism.

Inventor includes Madhuraj C A.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a removable garment-integrated mobile-phone pouch having a mechanically coordinated dual-stage locking and release mechanism. The pouch comprises a pouch body (2) configured to receive a mobile phone (6), a primary spring-assisted latch (7), a locking hook (8), and a resilient sponge/elastomeric spring element (9). Upon insertion of the mobile phone (6), the phone mechanically displaces the primary latch (7), causing the resilient spring element (9) to bias the latch into engagement with the locking hook (8), thereby automatically retaining the mobile phone without requiring a separate manual locking operation. A separate concealed, wearer-facing release mechanism comprising a release button (11), release lever (12) and sliding unlock plate (13) is provided for deliberate disengagement of the locking hook (8) and removal of the mobile phone. The pouch further includes a removable locking cartridge (22) and detachable mounting arrangement (15, 16), enabling removal of the mechanical assembly before garment washing and subsequent reinstallation. A soft protective layer (17) and comfort spacer (25) reduce uncomfortable contact between the mechanical components and the wearer. The invention provides secure mobile-phone retention, deliberate release, wearer comfort, maintainability, removability and washing convenience in a garment-integrated pouch.
