MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631071088 A) filed by Kalinga Institute Of Industrial Technology Kiit Deemed To Be University on June 08, 2026, for Reliability Assessment For Distributed Sensor Networks In Industrial Iot.

Inventors include Ray, Niranjan Kumar; Sahu, Deepika Rani; and Tripathy, Pradyumana Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: A system (100) for reliability assessment of distributed sensor networks in Industrial Internet of Things environments includes a device layer (102) with sensing units positioned within industrial zones including an industrial machinery component zone and an industrial environment component zone, wherein the sensing units acquire operational and contextual data. A middleware layer (104) includes an IIoT gateway receiving data via a base station and translating communication protocols to IP- based protocols. A cloud layer (106) includes a cloud server, data storage unit, analytics module, and decision support system. The cloud server evaluates reliability using a disjoint minimal link cut method computing failure probability expressions based on structural interdependencies among sensing units, wherein the disjoint minimal link cuts are unique, non-redundant, and mutually independent. The decision support system transforms operational data into insights by identifying anomalies and transmitting decisions to trigger alarms and activate actuators. (FIG. 1)
