Abstract: This invention presents the prototype development of an electromagnetic regenerative damper system designed to recover energy from vehicle suspension vibrations. The system operates by converting the relative motion generated by road-induced suspension movement into electrical energy through the principle of electromagnetic induction. As the damper undergoes continuous compression and rebound, the changing magnetic field induces an electrical output that can be harvested and stored for powering low-energy automotive electronic systems. The regenerative electromagnetic damper functions by utilizing the reciprocating motion of permanent magnets relative to a magnetic core, enabling the conversion of otherwise wasted mechanical vibration energy into usable electrical energy. Unlike conventional hydraulic dampers that dissipate vibration energy entirely as heat, the proposed system captures a portion of this energy and converts it into electrical power.
