MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541017554 A) filed by Ola Electric Mobility Limited on February 27, 2025, for Regenerative Anti-Lock Braking System For Vehicle.
Inventor includes Vivian, Maria Sylvester.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: A slip detection system for an electric vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a battery, a current sensor configured to measure battery current during regenerative braking, and a controller configured to determine a rate of change of the battery current and detect wheel slip based on the determined rate of change. Wheel slip is detected without reliance on a wheel speed sensor. During regenerative braking, the motor operates as a generator, and variations in battery current corresponding to changes in back electromotive force are used to infer slip conditions. When the determined slip exceeds a predefined threshold, the controller activates an anti- lock braking function and reduces regenerative braking torque to maintain traction. The system is applicable to electric vehicles including two-wheeled vehicles in which the motor drives a rear wheel.
