MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611056746 A) filed by Sharda University on May 04, 2026, for Reflective Uav Relay Communication System.

Inventors include Sibaram Khara; Ayush Kumar; and Iqra Javid.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a reflective UAV relay communication system comprising a source ground node, a destination ground node, an unmanned aerial vehicle relay platform, a relay communication module, a passive reflective surface, and a link management unit. The source ground node transmits data through a direct wireless communication link toward the destination ground node. The link management unit monitors received signal strength indicator associated with the direct wireless communication link and activates the relay communication module when the received signal strength indicator satisfies a relay activation condition. The relay communication module is carried by the unmanned aerial vehicle relay platform and forwards data from the source ground node to the destination ground node. The passive reflective surface redirects wireless signals toward the destination ground node to support signal propagation during relay-based communication.
