MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541017063 A) filed by Ola Electric Mobility Limited on February 26, 2025, for Redundancy Braking Control In Vehicular Braking Systems Having Regenerative Braking.
Inventors include Aggarwal, Bhavish; and Srivastav, Ayush.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT REDUNDANCY BRAKING CONTROL IN VEHICULAR BRAKING SYSTEMS HAVING REGENERATIVE BRAKING 5 The present disclosure relates to techniques for controlling redundancy braking in vehicular braking systems having regenerative braking. The disclosed system includes a control unit (110) communicatively coupled to a primary braking unit (106) associated with a first set of wheels (102) and an auxiliary braking unit (108) associated with a second set of wheels (104). 10 The primary braking unit (106) comprises a regenerative braking unit and the auxiliary braking unit (108) comprises a mechanical braking unit. The control unit (110) identifies an emergency braking event and determines a target deceleration torque to stop the vehicle (100) within a safe braking distance. The control unit (110) activates the primary braking unit (106) to 15 provide a first portion of the target deceleration torque and activates the auxiliary braking unit (108) to provide a second portion, wherein the second portion supplements the first portion, thereby maximizing energy recuperation while ensuring safe braking. 20 FIG. 2
