Abstract: REDUCING SCHEDULING RESTRICTIONS DURING DUAL SUBSCRIBER IDENTITY MODULE DUAL STANDBY Example embodiments are directed to reducing scheduling restrictions during Dual Subscriber Identity Module Dual Standby (DSDS). A first, comprises receiving, by a first apparatus a second apparatus to which a first subscriber identity module (SIM) of the first apparatus is connected, a first multi-universal SIM (MUSIM) gap configuration for the first non-contiguous intra-band carrier aggregation (CA) mode via a first radio resource control (RRC) configuration message; in accordance with the first SIM transitioning from the first non-contiguous intra-band CA mode to a second non-contiguous intra-band CA mode, transmitting a request of a second MUSIM gap configuration for the second non- contiguous intra-band CA mode; and in accordance with receiving the second MUSIM gap configuration via second RRC configuration, switching, from the first MUSIM gap configuration to the second MUSIM gap configuration to support a data scheduling on the first SIM during an idle mode procedure operation on a second SIM.
