MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611021880 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi on February 24, 2026, for Recycling Of Rice Husk Ash And Blast Furnace Slag Into Insulating Porous Ceramics.
Inventors include Panda, Subrata; Arif, Md; and Saroj, Vivek Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to the inorganic chemistry and products related thereof. Preferably, the present disclosure relates to a porous ceramic composition comprising blast furnace slag (BFS) and rice husk silica, and a process of preparation thereof. The present disclosure provides porous ceramic composition which has efficient insulating effect useful in different industries. Said porous ceramic composition can be designed for the purification of drinking water by effectively removing heavy metals, bacteria and other contaminants. The aforesaid porous ceramic composition may also be designed for acoustic applications.
