MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641079682 A) filed by Sona College Of Technology on June 29, 2026, for Real-Time Vibration Analysis And Fault Classification System For Rotating Machines Using Artificial Intelligence.

Inventors include Babitha J; Hindhuja V; Janapriya M; and Suresh G.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a real-time vibration analysis system for rotating machines using artificial intelligence for automatic fault detection and classification. The system continuously acquires vibration signals from machines such as motors, pumps, fans, and gearboxes using vibration sensors. The collected signals are processed using signal processing techniques including filtering, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), and time-frequency analysis to extract meaningful features representing machine health conditions. These features are input to a machine learning or deep learning model trained to identify and classify faults such as bearing defects, imbalance, misalignment, and mechanical looseness. The system operates in real time, enabling continuous condition monitoring without manual intervention. It provides early fault detection, real-time alerts, and supports predictive maintenance strategies. The invention improves reliability, reduces unexpected machine failures, minimizes maintenance costs, and enhances industrial operational efficiency.
