MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110391 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 14, 2026, for Real-Time Vehicular Fuel Quality And Compatibility Monitoring System With Dual In-Line.
Inventors include Vishal Sharma; Sampoorn Trivedi; Avni; and Ruchir Kalra.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to in-vehicle monitoring of fuel composition and compatibility for internal combustion engines. An in-line fuel analytics block (10) in a low- pressure fuel line uses capacitive dielectric sensing (4) for ethanol-related composition, near-infrared sensing through quartz optical windows (5) using an NIR emitter (6) and photodiode detector (7) for impurity-related absorption, and an NTC thermistor (8) for thermal correction. An OBD-II interface provides live engine parameters, while vehicle profiling supplies engine- specific reference limits and a driving-load classifier determines operating stress. A processing unit combines the fuel, thermal, engine-profile and load information to generate a dynamic fuel compatibility score and a graduated vehicle alert. Bluetooth Low Energy can transmit diagnostic data to a mobile interface for historical and location-associated fuel records. The technical advancement is concurrent in-line fuel sensing and engine-state correlation for vehicle-specific compatibility monitoring.
