MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621063598 A) filed by Marathwada Mitra Mandals College Of Engineering on May 20, 2026, for Real-Time Vehicle Speed Monitoring And Alert System For Electric Vehicles.
Inventors include Aryan Jaysing Suryawanshi; and Dr. Archana Bajirao Kanwade.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT REAL-TIME VEHICLE SPEED MONITORING AND ALERT SYSTEM FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES The present invention relates to the real-time vehicle speed monitoring and alert system (100) for low-power electric vehicles, particularly two- wheelers and three-wheelers. The system employs a single NPN-type inductive proximity sensor (102) for non-contact detection of pulses from a rotating ferromagnetic disc (101) mounted on the wheel hub, coupled with an Arduino-based microcontroller (103) for real-time pulse processing and accurate computation of vehicle speed. The system features a graphical user interface (104) for displaying real-time speed and includes an intelligent alert mechanism that provides immediate visual and auditory warnings when the vehicle exceeds a pre-set speed threshold. The system offers a simple, compact, low-cost, and reliable solution for promoting safe driving practices and preventing over-speeding in electric vehicles.
