MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611010325 A) filed by Dr. Atul Kapoor on January 31, 2026, for Real-Time Ultrasound-Based Medical Diagnostic Apparatus.
Inventor includes Dr. Atul Kapoor.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a real-time ultrasound-based medical diagnostic apparatus (100) for non-invasive liver assessment. The apparatus (100) comprises a hardware ultrasound acquisition interface (110) configured to receive acoustic tissue parameters including attenuation, acoustic backscatter, speed-of-sound, propagation velocity, and shear-wave elastography parameters from one or more ultrasound scanners. A signal harmonization circuit (120) comprising convolutional filter hardware kernels (122) normalizes the acoustic tissue parameters into vendor-neutral standardized tissue parameters. A multi-parametric tissue characterization circuit (130) derives a composite hepatic fat fraction, a liver stiffness parameter, and an iron acoustic index. A confounder compensation circuit (140) applies non-linear correction functions to compensate for fat, iron, inflammation, and tissue depth effects. An iron overload detection module (150) computes an Iron Signal Effect Index, and a hierarchical disease classification module (160) generates metabolic-associated fatty liver disease classification indicators. A clinical reporting interface (170) outputs technical diagnostic indicators and management support information.
