Abstract: A real-time multimodal emotion inference system, comprises an input module to receive a video stream of a subject and at least one language stream, a visual processing module to detect a face region when available and extract facial features and a preliminary emotion likelihood from the video stream, partial occlusion, or crowded background conditions, a speech-to-text module to generate a transcript from the live audio when the live audio is present, an NLP module to process at least one of the transcript, the chat text, the clinical notes, the attendance remarks, or the incident summaries to extract contextual cues, a fusion module to combine outputs of the visual processing module and the NLP module to generate a context-aware emotion output, a confidence and explanation module to output an emotion label with a confidence score and a justification, a privacy and governance module to enforce consent and data handling rules.
