Inventors include Dr. S. Ganeshmoorthy; and M Soundarrajan.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: JWT and OAuth 2.0 are widely used in modern web and cloud applications due to their stateless and lightweight design. However, these tokens are highly vulnerable to misuse, replay, and unauthorized access once stolen, as traditional security tools like IDS and WAF focus on network-level threats and fail to analyze token-level behavior. This leads to undetected attacks such as multi-IP token usage, forged tokens, device spoofing, and impossible-travel anomalies. To address these limitations, this project proposes a real-time Token-Based Authentication Monitoring System that continuously analyzes every JWT used in API requests. The system tracks critical contextual parameters including IP address, device fingerprint, geographic location, and user behavioral patterns. A rule-based detection engine with five security checks identifies suspicious activities such as rapid token reuse, multi-location logins, abnormal request bursts, and potential replay attacks. Each event is classified into Low, Moderate, High, and Critical severity levels, enabling precise threat investigation. The proposed solution offers low-latency processing (approximately 9–10 ms per request), seamless integration with existing authentication flows, and significantly improved detection accuracy compared to traditional methods. By providing real- time alerts and a monitoring dashboard, the system enhances overall security posture and ensures robust protection against token misuse in modern distributed applications Token-base authentication systems .
