Abstract: ABSTRACT REAL-TIME IOT-BASED URBAN FLOOD MONITORING AND DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM The present invention discloses a real-time urban flood monitoring and decision support system (100) that integrates IoT-based sensing with machine learning-assisted predictive analytics for early flood detection and warning generation. The system (100) comprises a field sensing module (110) having an ultrasonic sensor (112) connected to an ESP32 microcontroller (114) for continuous monitoring of water levels inside urban drainage systems. A rule-based alert generation module (140) classifies conditions into Safe, Warning, and High Alert categories based on predefined water level thresholds. A machine learning prediction module (130) analyses environmental and hydrological parameters to validate alerts and provide confidence-based decision support. The system (100) further includes a monitoring dashboard (150) for real-time visualization and a smart alert dissemination module (160) for notifying citizens and authorities. The system (100) is scalable into a multi-sensor network where upstream sensor data predicts downstream flood risks. [
