MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641105493 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on September 02, 2026, for Real-Time Health Monitoring System For Pulse Rate And Oxygen Level Using Arduino.

Inventors include D. Sowmiya; Dr. P. Vijayaragavan; and Dr Ramya Mohan.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The proposed system presents areal-time pulse rate and oxygen saturation (Sp02) monitoring device developed using an Arduino microcontroller and Embedded C programming. The system utilizes a medical-grade optical pulse oximeter sensor to non-invasively measure variations in blood flow and oxygen percentage through photoplethysmography (PPG), The collected analog signals are processed by the Arduino, converted to digital form, and displayed on an LCD screen for continuous health monitoring. The implementation of embedded C programming ensures efficient signal acquisition, filtering, and real-time data processing. This system provides a compact, low-cost, and portable alternative to conventional medical monitoring equipment, making it suitable for applications in telemedicine, wearable health monitoring, home care, and emergency response. The results demonstrate reliable and accurate measurement performance, supporting its potential use in both clinical and non-clinical environments for health management and early detection of physiological abnormalities.
