Inventors include Ms. Chaya H. P.; Dr. Nanda S.; Mr. Praveen Kumar M. S.; Mr. Prashvith M. P.; Mr. Sankalp Ganesh; and Mr. Abhishek Bharadwaj.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a real-time embedded system for visualizing a direction and relative intensity of a dominant sound source. The system comprises a circular microelectromechanical microphone array, an embedded computing unit, a camera module, an audio-processing module, and a visual overlay generation module. The microphone array provides an estimated azimuth direction of the dominant sound source, while at least one audio channel is filtered through a user- adjustable bandpass filter and processed to determine a root mean square based relative intensity value. The camera module captures a live video feed, and the visual overlay generation module generates a circular overlay on the video feed. A movable visual marker is positioned according to the estimated azimuth direction, and its size, glow, or other visual property varies according to the relative sound intensity. The system operates locally on embedded hardware without cloud processing and provides a portable, low-cost visual sound direction indication platform for education, industrial monitoring, assistive technology, robotics, and human-machine interaction.
