Abstract: FireBotEdge is an intelligent, real-time fire-extinguishing robotic system designed to autonomously detect and suppress fires in indoor and small-scale commercial environments. It integrates a MATLAB- trained AI model optimized for embedded AI and edge computing platforms, enabling accurate, low-latency analysis of live video and thermal streams from onboard cameras and infrared sensors. Unlike traditional fire alarm systems, the invention operates entirely offline, ensuring rapid response, privacy, and reliability in low-connectivity . Its multi-layered architecture includes real-time video/thermal capture, frame preprocessing, AI-driven fire detection, and automated targeting and suppression of detected flames. Upon detection, the system activates a servo-controlled nozzle to spray dry chemical powder precisely at the fire source, while logging event metadata by ATmega328 microcontroller . By combining embedded AI, edge computing, and robotic actuation, FireBotEdge delivers a scalable, energy-efficient, and field- deployable solution for fire safety in various applications, reducing response time and minimizing damage during fire emergencies.
